In this interview, we speak to Carolyn Chin-Parry, Digital Innovation Leader at PwC Singapore to learn how women can find mentorship and sponsorship opportunities that can help claim a seat at the C-suite table and what attendees can look forward to at her SHE BRILLIANCE Corporate Leadership workshop on 29 October 2021.

What should leadership look like in times of uncertainty? And why is it important for women to know that they, too, can get a seat at the C-suite table? 

In difficult times, managers are grappling with the unknown. As disruptions to business-as-usual continue and workplace relationships get more strained, it is crucial for leaders to be able to motivate, communicate despite the distance and rally everyone together for positive outcomes.

She articulates perfectly what the SHE BRILLIANCE movement is to her – bringing forth a community of Leaders who possess those qualities benefit from being able to change the tides to their favour during challenging times. They are transformational leaders who support the team, are able to take calculated risks despite changing dynamics, and able to promote a positive work culture to lead teams through a turbulent journey, says Carolyn. 

“Transformational leadership was necessary before the pandemic but it’s even more so now so that we can come out of the pandemic in a good position.” 

To complement these examples of leadership in action, Carolyn shares the ways women professionals can find mentorship and sponsorship for development, and the different forms of mentorship and sponsorship available.
